Looking for 2 Project Controls Specialists to join our clients' team in the western suburbs of Chicago. The person in this role will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects with interesting clients across various markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and controlling assigned aspects of a project; including monitoring project schedules and budgets, evaluating project productivity and quality, and directing the complete technical operations of the project
Implement assignments and activities delegated from the Senior Project Manager
Responsible to define the work scope and prepare overall schedules and budgets on various sized projects. Update schedules and implement corrections or adjustments when necessary
Assist in developing cost estimates for additional work or contract modifications
Develop and maintain schedules using P6, knowledge of Microsoft Project a plus
Report and track cost for engineering
Ensure internal and owner reporting requirements are met on a timely basis
Prepare periodic progress and budget reports to reflect the status of projects as engineering, and procurement, and construction progress through the project life cycle
Review conversation reports to ensure consistency with contractual requirements not sure what this means
Responsible for distributing all correspondence to the appropriate project members
Ensure that all work hour control is being implemented properly; Engineering Change Notices are being identified and reported to the Project Manager
Prepare progress reports
Support preparation of logic diagrams and bar charts for scheduling engineering activities
Review and evaluate manpower expenditures and implement corrective actions or adjustments as required to address overall performance efficiencies for the engineering team
Update, inform and clarify project outcomes, deliverables, potential problems, and project needs
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree preferred but will look at candidates with experience in lieu of degree.
3+ years of Project Controls experience in planning/scheduling and cost engineering
Proficiency in utilizing Primavera (P6) or other industrial and engineering-related software
Experience understanding cost projects
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to provide effective intra and inter-discipline coordination on projects, as well as effective communication with clients and vendors
Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others
Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries
Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments
Basic understanding of engineering workflows
Must maintain active status in a drug and/or alcohol testing consortium
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have problem-solving skills, works to resolve complex situations with appropriate management
Must be dependable by meeting deadlines, working independently, accountable for work, maintaining focus, punctual, and a good attendance record
Must be able to maintain a professional attitude and be able to work interdependently or work as a TEAM member when needed
