Assistant Terminal Managers are responsible for assisting the Terminal Manager in all areas of a complex operation focused on safety, administration, maintenance, train performance and productivity.  Assistant Terminal Managers are charged with developing and driving terminal strategies and solutions through people, systems and process to continuously ensure excellence in safety, profitability and service. Successful Assistant Terminal Managers are critical thinkers that possess strong analytical and communication skills and embrace a rapid-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assistant Terminal Manager
Partners with Terminal Managers to ensure KPIs are met; Train Performance, Lifts per Hour & Cost per Hour, etc.
Develops and drives existing staff to enhance Engagement & Retention within the Terminal
Builds collaborative partnerships between ITS and local railroad officers
Acts as key point of contact between ITS and our customers
Enforces and upholds all ITS rules, regulations and policies
Approaches violations with care and administers disciplinary actions when required
Monitors and approves terminal purchases for payment & manages purchases within budget
Approves weekly time & attendance and ensures data is accurate and timely
Partners with Talent Acquisition to ensure the Terminal is fully staffed
Owns the Training and Orientation process of all employees to ensure their ongoing success
Provides Terminal Metrics & Reports as needed
Other duties as assigned (administrative & non-administrative)

Qualifications:
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
1-3 years leadership experience
Prior (5+ years) intermodal, transportation, logistics or warehousing experience
Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
Excellent communication skills are mandatory
Proficient in Outlook and MS Office suite of products
Strong Work Ethic
Ability to work 2nd Shift
Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
