NexantECA’s Energy Technology Consulting Team delivers techno-economic analysis and design development to government, industry, and research clients in the energy and chemicals sector.
Main responsibilities:
Lead project execution and management to deliver quality results to our clients
Lead systems integration and techno-economic studies of novel energy technologies, including advanced power cycles, CO2 capture, coal and biomass conversion, low-carbon hydrogen production, and bulk energy storage
Develop technical cost and performance models to analyze energy systems costs
Perform process simulation and studies, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing, datasheets and specifications, utilities requirements, balance of plant design, and overall systems analysis and techno-economic analysis
Develop bottoms-up capital cost estimates based on equipment specification and operating cost estimates from utilities requirements
Prepare reports and presentations describing the results of projects
Collect and organize relevant data and information from technology developers for input into techno-economic models
Take the lead position within NexantECA’s Energy Technology Consulting activities as relates to business development and sales generation
Identify leads
Develop and convert proposals for performing feasibility studies, due diligence engagements, supply/demand/trade analyses, technology assessments and other related projects
Effectively manage team of junior and mid-level consultants
Work with NexantECA’s senior management team to shape and grow the future of our consulting activities globally
Primary geographic responsibilities will be in the Americas but also other regions as appropriate

Requirements
Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant energy industry discipline (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Engineering and Economics)
Higher degree in relevant subject (Masters, PhD)
Excellent standard of academic qualifications
Skills and Experience
10+ years relevant industry and/or consulting experience
Background in process design and optimization of energy systems
Experience in conceptual design and pre-FEED/FEED studies of energy systems
Proficient with development of Excel spreadsheet models and, and in developing formal written reports
Proficiency in process simulation and cost estimation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, Aspen Hysys, Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator)
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as client interface capabilities
Experience in at least one- or two-systems level engineering of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), hydrogen production, coal and/or biomass gasification, syngas production, advanced power cycles (oxycombustion, supercritical CO2 power cycle)
Proven experience in leading and managing teams to deliver projects, on time within budget and to client’s expectations.
Demonstrative experience in client relationship management and business development.

Details
Hours: 40 per week. Some evening and weekend activities on occasions
Must be eligible to work in the US, with either US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status
