A Radiation Therapist is a healthcare professional who is responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients who have cancer or other diseases. The Radiation Therapist works with the Radiation Oncologist to develop and implement treatment plans for patients. They use specialized equipment to deliver radiation therapy to the patient’s affected area while ensuring that the healthy tissues are not harmed. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare the treatment area and the equipment before administering radiation therapy.
- Explain the treatment procedure, its benefits, and potential side effects to the patient and their family.
- Position the patient accurately using immobilization devices and positioning aids.
- Operate the radiation therapy equipment and monitor the patient throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain patient records and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Ensure the safety of patients, co-workers, and the public by following radiation safety protocols.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy or a related field.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- State licensure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to position patients and operate equipment.
