Lead Electrical Engineer Requisition ID: Requisition Posting End Date: 05/25/2021 Project Description: Nautilus Project Summary: Nautilus is a private developer of data centers for third-party users. Nautilus data centers rely on proprietary liquid-cooled technology with a once-through open-cycle heat sink. Data centers can be either barge-mounted floating vessels or land-based buildings. Bechtel will provide engineering and design services for the development of data center projects. In particular, Bechtel will assist Nautilus with the development of standardized designs for data centers of various sizes. Emphasis will be placed on skid-mounted, scalable systems for supporting utilities. Essential Job Duties: Develop conceptual and schematic designs for electrical systems to support standardized data centers for the Nautilus customer. Regular duties include: * Understanding customer requirements and converting them into design criteria for electrical systems supporting data center operation. * Developing schematic and conceptual designs for electrical systems (MV, LV, UPS, emergency power) to support data center operation. * Sizing electrical equipment for data center supporting systems such as MV, LV, UPS and emergency power. * Producing key electrical engineering deliverables for the data center design including CADD models, drawings, specifications and supporting calculations. * Providing technical oversight of designers implementing electrical designs in the CADD model. * Coordinating with other engineering disciplines. * Review of contractor shop drawings, technical submittals and proposals for compliance with project design requirements. Basic Qualifications: * Level 1: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related field from an accredited institution and 6 years of engineering experience including at least 4 years of experience on data center projects. * Level 2: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related field from an accredited institution and 9 years of engineering experience including at least 4 years of experience on data center projects. * Experience in the design of electrical systems for data centers, including MV, LV, UPS and emergency power. * Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the design of electrical systems for data centers including IEEE, IEC and NFPA 70. * Experience with performing various electrical system studies. * Knowledge of EPMS/SCADA/BMS. * Ability to review and manipulate CADD models using Revit software. * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. * Proven team player with the ability to work effectively within a team. Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum 2 years of recent experience in data center design. * Familiarity with the construction and commissioning of data centers. * Design experience with Revit software. * Experience with ETAP. * Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration.
