OUR PURPOSE
The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) is a not-for-profit membership organization that promotes the health of women and newborns. Our mission is to empower and support nurses caring for women, newborns, and their families through research, education, and advocacy.
 
POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Coordinator will provide administrative support for the Nursing, Education, Research and Practice department. This role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day administrative duties, special projects, and coordination of corporate outreach and meetings with external partners and stakeholders.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•       Provides administrative support to department team members   as needed.
•       Schedules department standing meetings, prepares agendas and records meeting notes.
•       Schedules meetings with internal and external key members for department initiatives, prepares agendas and records meeting notes, when needed.
•       Serves as liaison and provides support for the Vice President in preparing for, attending, and following up on various meetings.
•       Assist department team members with budget oversight, tracking, coding of bills, reimbursement, and check request preparation.
•       Manages, coordinates, tracks, and facilitates ANCC NCPD processing and recordkeeping in collaboration with Director of Accreditation and Continuing Nursing Education and nurse planners.
•       Coordinates maintenance of NCPD accreditation through development of annual reports and assists in the preparation for reaccreditation and ongoing appraisal of compliance with accrediting agency requirements.
•       Creates, organizes, and maintains file structures in collaboration with IT and Sr. Manager of Library and Services and Archives.
•       Coordinates department shipping and packing process.
•       Completes other activities as assigned and/or delegated.

Interfaces with others both within and outside the organization to obtain or clarify information or provide information or facts. Contacts may be by phone, virtual or in person.
LEADERSHIP
Provide ongoing professional mentoring within the organization, assist in expansion of learning, provide tools to help build knowledge, skills, and growth capacity. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for new and current staff. Promote a positive work environment for all staff and effectively collaborate with the leadership team.
 
SUPERVISION
Reports to Vice President, Nursing, Education, Research and Practice and receives work guidance from other department team members as needed. Routine assignments are managed independently. Clear guidance may be given on difficult or non-routine assignments. Occasionally work is reviewed while in progress.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
•       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•       At minimum of three years of related experience preferably in a not-for profit organization, healthcare/medical association, or professional society
•       Demonstrated proficiency in creating, organizing, and maintaining databases and file structures.
•       Strong organizational, administration and interpersonal communications
•       Strong writing skills
•       Analytical skills and an ability to identify and utilize information resources.
•       Ability to prioritize multiple and constantly changing tasks, remain flexible often under very tight deadlines.
•       Ability to work well at all levels in the organization.
•       Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams
•       Demonstrated skill coordinating and managing projects.
•       Demonstrated ability and versatility to work both independently as well as within a team environment.
•        Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of virtual meetings using Teams and Zoom.
WORK LOCATION
This position is eligible for telecommuting and will be required to adhere to AWHONN’s Telecommuter Policy. This individual may be requested to travel to AWHONN headquarters in Washington, DC annually and more frequently as necessary for business purposes.

FLSA CLASSIFICATION
This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay and will consist of 35 hours of work per week.
Salary -$52,530
