JOB DESCRIPTION
886 bed Level One trauma center
* Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
* Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
* Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
* Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained.
* Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care.
* Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
* Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
* Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
* Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
* Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards.
* Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
* Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.
QUALIFICATIONS
* BLS and ACLS
* National Institutes of Health (NIH)
* Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
* The ability to stand for extended periods.
* Strong technical skills.
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Passionate about patient care
* Requires a minimum of two years of current Nuclear Med Tech experience.
* Graduate from a fully accredited Nuclear Med Tech program
* Active unencumbered New York Nuclear Med Tech state license
* Two years of Epic experience
REQUIREMENTS
COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
