Parallel Employment Group in partnership with a local Food Manufacturing organization is seeking 2nd Shift Quality Assurance Lab Tech to join their growing team.
Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process to ensure product meets customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Must have previous manufacturing inspection experience, completing paperwork, strong attention to detail.
$17/hr; will consider slightly more with experience.
Fulltime - 2nd shift M-F 3:30pm-11:30pm
The position is not difficult, but there are many “small parts & pieces” to the job. Attendance, attitude, ability & willingness to learn, and being able to work both with a team and independently are critical for success in this position. Requirements
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Maintain product quality at all times, place QC holds on any items of questionable quality.
• Perform hourly QC line checks per company and co-packers specifications, to document & record that quality standards are being met.
• Perform all QA tasks per Lab Manual & legibly fill in all required QA daily paperwork to document and record existing conditions.
• Daily calibration & record-keeping for laboratory equipment.
• Do laboratory analysis on all batches produced to verify that all specifications are met.
• Perform Lab Tech Shift Sanitation Inspection to ensure that cleanliness standards are met & GMP compliance is in place.
• Perform and document all required checks on incoming apples and outgoing apple juice products.
• Regularly check that all coding and packaging specifications are being met. Do regular weekly/monthly inspections as per lab manual.
• Coordinate with production personnel/ production supervisors to stop the line when quality issues develop.
• Keep lab clean and orderly.
• Help out with any work on line as needed.
• Inform maintenance, sanitation, and production supervisors of any issues that need attention or correction.
• Additional duties as assigned
SKILLS REQUIRED
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP's and laboratory equipment
• Ability to read, understand, and implement all of the policies and procedures as laid out in the QA Lab Manual. Ability to perform and interpret laboratory and microbiological tests.
• Analytical, inspection, math, communication, and legible record-keeping skills required
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Work in generally conducted inside plant in the QA Lab and on production floor. Occasional outside & warehouse work. Regular lifting to 40#. Standing and walking throughout the plant most of the day.
