Overview:We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. As a Junior Accountant, you will work closely with our accounting team to assist with various financial tasks and ensure accurate record-keeping. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in accounting while contributing to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
Assist with Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, verify expenses, and ensure timely payments. Prepare and send invoices to clients, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.
General Ledger Maintenance: Record financial transactions accurately and update the general ledger. Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other accounts to ensure accuracy.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Generate financial reports for management review.
Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by gathering relevant financial data and providing analysis. Monitor budget variances and report findings to management.
Assist with Audits: Prepare audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll accurately and on time. Verify timesheets, calculate wages, and ensure statutory deductions are applied correctly.
Financial Analysis: Conduct basic financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights to support decision-making.
Documentation and Filing: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation. Ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements.
Ad Hoc Tasks: Assist with special projects and other accounting tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior internship or entry-level experience in accounting is a plus.
