As a Senior Backend Engineer at CTI, you will be responsible for designing and implementing highly scalable and performant backend services to support our mission-critical applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, architect solutions, and contribute to the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design and develop backend services and APIs in languages such as Java, Python, or Go
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Scale and optimize services to meet performance, reliability, and scalability goals
Write and maintain clean, high-quality, and testable code
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and other production issues
Work with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools to automate the build, test, and deployment process
Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
Participate in program increment (PI) cycle, including planning of sprint tasks and participation in all Agile development ceremonies while ensuring all developmental blockers are documented and reported
Automating the deployment and scaling of containerized cloud native applications using Kubernetes
This position is required to be onsite up to 50% of the time at USSOCOM facilities located on and near MacDill AFB in Tampa FL
Requirements
Necessary skills and experience
Minimum 4 years of experience with designing and implementing full-stack software solutions
Proficiency with web technologies such as React, Redux Toolkit, and Typescript
Proven track record with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automating cloud solutions such as Terraform
Experience provisioning and configuring cloud native infrastructure
Experience monitoring, diagnosing, analyzing root cause, and implementing preventative measures to avoid reoccurrence
Nimble CI/CD approach to application builds and cloud deployments
Experience leading technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identify solutions, and communicate the process and conclusions to an engineering team
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Must have an active U.S. government Secret security clearance and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance and SCI. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use cases

Proficient with container-based software solutions such as Docker, gateway managers such as Kong, and security authentication systems such as Active Directory and Keycloak
Microservices and/or distributed computing development experience
Strong experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and other Hashicorp tools
Experience with continuous deployment tools like ArgoCD, Spinnaker, and Flux V2
Experience with monorepo and microfrontend architecture
Experience with Tactical Assault Kit, Common Operational Picture (COP) platforms, and working with government team
