Position Summary: The Therapist or Therapist Associate position is responsible for providing psychotherapy to a caseload inclusive of adults, adolescents, and/or families experiencing symptoms related to mental health.
Responsibilities:
Provide psychotherapy and counseling to clients, individually and/or in group sessions, to assist them in meeting their treatment goals, a minimum of 10 clients per week
Evaluate clients’ mental condition based on review of client information, interviews, observation, and collaboration with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge
Use evidence-based treatment approaches to provide quality care to assigned caseload
Modify treatment interventions and approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients’ status and every 6 months
Submit insurance claims and other related paperwork in a timely fashion
Maintain all professional licensure(s) required and provide prompt cooperation with third party credentialing for billing purposes
Maintain up-to-date client and program records and submit all notes for services within 24 hours
Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
Maintain confidentiality of records related to clients’ treatment
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or Similar
Licensure in Maryland, DC or VA as one of the following: LCPC, LCSW-C, RP, or similar. (LGPC/LGSW/LMSW/LGMFT or Resident in Counseling may be considered on a case by case basis)
Must have the ability to work remotely
Evening and/or weekend availability
Must have at least 3 months experience providing telehealth and strong comfort level with technology
Must be accountable and collaborative. Working a hybrid or remote schedule, clinician will be expected to proactively take ownership of key tasks, and keep in regular communication with the team
Must have a passion for working with diverse communities
Must have good written and oral communication skills and good organizational skills.
Must maintain organization, coworker, and client confidentiality and abide by the Data Privacy Act and HIPAA
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, Insurance billing, social media marketing
Experience with speaking engagements, workshops and facilitating
Board-Approved Supervisor in MD, DC or VA
