A prominent organisation in the motorsport and automotive industry is seeking an experienced Chief Race Car Systems Engineer to join its dynamic team. Based at a renowned facility, the role involves working on a diverse range of projects spanning both existing and new ventures.

The successful candidate will be stationed at a prestigious location known for hosting top-tier corporate motorsport events and high-profile race championships. Responsibilities encompass the specification, procurement, application, and upkeep of key electronic, electro-mechanical, and electrical equipment utilised across various championships and performance fleets.

This challenging position demands a candidate with solid expertise in motorsport electronics and electrical components, preferably within the realm of race and high-performance automotive sectors. The ideal candidate will exhibit enthusiasm, drive, and a genuine passion for the motorsport industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborating on the early phases of vehicle and circuit-based projects to ensure comprehensive integration of electronic, electrical, and communication functionality, followed by meticulous planning for timely execution within designated budgets.
Overseeing the development, planning, and seamless integration of electronic and electrical components within race and performance vehicles.
Leading and nurturing a small team of electrically proficient personnel.
Providing on-site technical support and troubleshooting expertise during GB3 & GB4 race events, addressing issues pertaining to car and engine electrical systems, electronic systems, and related components.
Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of major electronic and electrical equipment on vehicles, facilitating ongoing development, service, and maintenance activities.
Hands-on assembly of electronic and electrical components on high-performance vehicles and associated trackside equipment, ensuring seamless interfacing.
Implementing and managing routine reliability and testing protocols for both GB3 & GB4 and performance vehicles.
Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers from project inception to ensure alignment with company objectives and timely provision of supplies.Preferred Qualifications and Attributes:

Degree in a relevant field (Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, or Vehicle Systems Engineering).
Extensive prior experience in either racing or high-performance vehicles, with familiarity with leading hardware and software manufacturers such as Cosworth Electronics, MoTeC, AIM Technologies, and Magneti Marelli.
Proficiency in operating and acquiring data from devices like ECUs, power control modules, steering wheel displays, gear shift systems, ABS, traction control, DRS, and other motorsport systems.
Knowledge of motorsport sensor specification and wiring harness maintenance.
Possession of a full UK driving license.
Willingness to adhere to a race team work pattern, including evening and weekend commitments as well as occasional travel.
