Position Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Azure Data Architect to join our team. With a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure. As an integral member of our team, you will participate in data strategy and roadmap exercises, data architecture definition, business intelligence/data warehouse product selection, design, and implementation. You will also play key roles in large projects, serving as a Senior Data Modeler, Technical Lead, and Data Architect.
Your Key Responsibilities
Solution Design: Collaborate with multiple Software Engineering teams to understand their business goals, technical requirements, and constraints. Design scalable and cost-effective cloud architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure services. Develop solution blueprints, architectural diagrams, and technical specifications.
Architecture Development: Ensure solutions align with industry best practices, security standards, and compliance regulations. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to development teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Data Management: Define standards for how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed across the organization. Work through all stages of a data solution lifecycle: analyze/profile data, create conceptual, logical & physical data model designs, architect and design ETL, reporting, and analytics solutions. Serve as a subject matter expert for the organization on various data warehouse products available in Azure.
Data Accuracy and Accessibility: Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility, constantly monitoring and refining the performance of data management systems.
Technical Leadership: Participate and provide technical leadership in all phases of a project from discovery and planning through implementation and delivery. Work closely with DBAs, Developers, and Project Managers.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience with modern enterprise data architectures and data toolsets (e.g., data warehouse, data marts, data lake, 3NF and dimensional models, modeling tools, profiling tools).
Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, SSIS, and SSRS.
Experience in data integration using tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Azure Synapse.
Strong experience in architecture design and development using Microsoft Azure Data Services such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and no-SQL platforms.
Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
Knowledge of data architecture and design patterns and the ability to apply them.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new business domains and technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Transportation industry experience is a plus.
Experience working with Agile Teams utilizing Scrum.
