Role: Principal Software Developer
Workplace Type: 100% remote
Location: Washington, DC, USA
Employment Type: 1099 contract (1 year with possible extension)
Pay Range: $85 - $90 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
We're seeking a Principal Software Developer for our federal client! You will lead the development team responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, and enhancement of our client's legal matter management software. This software includes matter tracking, enterprise search solutions, and e-Discovery capabilities which support more than 20,000 litigation matters throughout the U.S. court system annually.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand business requirements, anticipate future needs, and create designs that can accommodate growth and change.
Design scalable, maintainable, and efficient software architectures according to client requirements.
Lead code reviews, ensuring that code written by team members meets quality standards, is well-documented, and follows established coding conventions.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT/Software Engineering field of study from a four-year accredited university.
10+ years of experience in the following areas: Designing, coding, fixing, and debugging software.
Maintaining, upgrading, and improving the performance of existing software (Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server Operating System).
Utilizing .NET frameworks, C#, and MVC model to develop web applications, API/web services, SharePoint Web parts, Window Services, and Scheduled Tasks.
Overseeing, validating, and verifying systems operations activities.
Monitoring systems operations processes and assessing infrastructure activities (processing, utilization, performance, instance availability, and security).
Training, managing, and supervising software engineers.
Enforcing configuration management policy throughout all types of software development using Microsoft Teams Foundation as a configuration management tool.
More than 5 years of experience in Microsoft Dynamic CRM configuration/customization and Microsoft cloud technology.
KEY PREFERENCES:
Prior experience working with federal government.
Active Moderate Risk Public Trust (Tier 2S background investigation).
