The vacancy
Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Specialist Support Worker on a Permanent part time basis (15 hours per week) covering the Braintree area.

As our next Specialist Support Worker, you will provide specialist housing support to customers who have a history of homelessness and rough sleeping as well as social exclusion and or disorderly lifestyles.

What we’re looking for:

* Do you have the right values and empathy to work with our customers?

* Do you have experience or a background of working with vulnerable people within a preventative, housing, or homelessness service?

* Are you able to engage with people who have experienced prolonged periods of homelessness and/or rough sleeping?

* Do you have knowledge or understand the causes of homelessness and rough sleeping?

* Do you have a background working with external agencies and other statutory organisations, particularly within the housing and social care sector?

A bit about the role:
As a Specialist Support Worker, you will work with customers who have been housed by Braintree Council into our specialist accommodation services following a period of homelessness, unsettled accommodate or rough sleeping. Therefore, a good knowledge of statutory and community services across Braintree and mid Essex would be great!

Some of the key results for the role include:

* To deliver support and interventions to customers.

* To engage and encourage customers into treatment, health accommodation services.

* To enable customers to make informed choices about their lives and better manage their emotional and personal wellbeing.

This role will require an Enhanced DBS check a UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

You will be lone working in and around the Braintree and mid Essex area at our services or in our customers accommodation.

The full-time equivalent salary for this role is £27,087 per annum.
