Quantity Surveyor

Westwood Construction are on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join our client on a permanent basis in Newport. The company is entering a busy period and are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who has worked on RC Frames/Reinforced Concrete to join their team who specialise in high rise buildings. You will play a pivotal role in managing costs, contracts, and financial aspects of construction projects within the civil engineering sector.

Role Responsibilities:

* Prepare accurate cost estimates for RC frame and reinforced concrete projects

* Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and control costs.

* Administer contracts, including subcontractor agreements.

* Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.

* Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials and labour.

* Collaborate with site teams to assess project requirements.

* Estimate quantities for concrete, formwork, reinforcement, and related items.

* Identify potential risks related to cost, schedule, and quality.

* Mitigate risks through effective planning and communication.

* Analyse project data to make informed decisions.

* Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and progress.

Role Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with exposure to RC frames and reinforced concrete.

* 5 years minimum experience as a Quantity Surveyor

* Estimating experience and proficiency in using cost estimating software and tools.

* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.
