Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Cost Discipline Lead to join their existing team in Bristol (hybrid working) on a 5 month contract.

The Role

As a Cost Discipline Lead, you will have an exciting and pivotal role in the successful delivery of our most complex projects and programmes in Defence Industry. Your responsibilities will include the following but not limited to:

Supporting the integration of new enterprise level cost management and performance toolsets, ensuring standardised and co-ordinate use across the entire portfolio.
Ensure related best practice approaches, governance and techniques, in line with Group policies, are embedded as part of our local operating model(s) and project delivery lifecycle - focusing on instilling strong foundations of and forward looking, proactive approaches to delivery
Supporting development / training of individuals in estimating and cost management practices and techniques and mentoring / coaching a range of individuals from across the business.

You

To succeed within the role of a Cost Discipline Lead, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

Significant experience of project estimating and cost management / control techniques and approaches, including estimating, forecasting, performance reporting (i.e. EVM) and quantitative risk analysis etc.
Experience of delivering/leading estimating and cost management and control within customer facing projects and programmes for large and technically complex equipment or system delivery contracts.
Experience of using, or working alongside, related software tools such as MSP, P6, Active Risk Manager, RiskHive, Deltec Cobra, Safran or Primavera Risk Analyser etc.
Experience of implementing / working within project cost & estimating related governance frameworks that align to the Association for Project Management
Experience of using ERP systems, including IFS (or similar)

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
