Secondary School Food Technician - Milton Keynes

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Food Technician to join our dynamic staff at a well-regarded secondary school in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food technology and has a keen interest in supporting the educational development of young people within a vibrant school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of food and resources for practical lessons, ensuring all ingredients and materials are available as needed.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment in the food technology rooms.
Manage the storage of food items and equipment, ensuring that hygiene and safety regulations are strictly followed.
Support teachers during lessons by preparing materials, demonstrating techniques, and managing student behavior.
Carry out regular checks and maintenance of equipment to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
Order and stock manage supplies and ingredients, keeping careful records of expenditures.
Facilitate a supportive and creative learning environment for students.
Assist with the implementation of school policies and health and safety protocols.Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of 6 months experience in UK education settings.
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene (Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
A proactive approach and ability to anticipate needs and plan accordingly.
Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo checks.Desirable Qualities:

Prior experience as a Food Technician or similar role.
