Questech Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled hands-on Lead Maintenance Engineer to join the team at one of clients based out of Driffield.

The role will require a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. This role is to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our machinery and equipment, to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. This role will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities within the business as well as actively participating in them. The machinery on site ranges from vacuum thermoforming, injection moulding & 5-axis to CNC machines.

Responsibilities include:

* Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted safely, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, company policies & industry standards to create a safe working environment for all employees.

* Assign & perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on all machinery according to schedule to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including scheduled tasks, repairs, equipment condition reports & contractor service reports, utilizing maintenance management software systems.

* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, deploying quick and effective solutions to minimize production disruptions and maintain operational continuity.

* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with machinery, utilizing a range of diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

* Execute timely and efficient repairs on faulty equipment, replacing defective parts, and conducting tests to ensure proper functionality before returning machinery to production.

* Conduct calibration procedures on CNC machinery and precision tools to maintain accuracy and quality standards in production processes.

* Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

* Provide training and support to machine operators and maintenance technicians on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols to enhance their skills and knowledge.

* Liaise with equipment suppliers and vendors to procure spare parts, tools, and technical support, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions for maintenance requirements.

Skills & Qualifications:

* HND / HNC or equivalent certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

* F-GAS certification is desirable.

* Proven experience in maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in vacuum forming, injection moulding and 5-axis CNC machinery.

* Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair.

* Familiarity with CNC programming, operation, and maintenance is desirable.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.

* Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures related to machinery operation and maintenance.

* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact collaboratively with cross-functional teams & shifts.

* Proactive attitude towards learning and staying updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in maintenance engineering.

Shift pattern:

Monday - Thursday 7AM - 4PM, Friday 8AM - 12PM (40 hours p/w)

Benefits:

Pay: £18.50 - £21.00 per hour (dependant on skills & experience)

32 days holiday per year, inclusive of Bank Holidays
