Our client are a not for profit based on the outskirts of Sheffield, they have an immediate opportunity for a Qualified by experience, part qualified or qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent management Accountant to join them for a period of 6 months initially to support them through a period of change. This is a 'hands on' and varied role with a business that has a strong people focussed culture, offering hybrid remote working and flexible hours.

As the Management Accountant you will review, reconcile and prepare accruals and prepayments, ensure that income is correctly accrued, allocate indirect costs and identify and correct errors within the accounting ledger, supporting the production of timely, accurate management accounts in accordance with strict deadlines. You will also be responsible for the production of financial forecasts and budgets, and providing strong accurate commentary on transactional balances. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting concepts, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and the ability to work autonomously in a high pressure environment.

Responsibilities include:
➢ Lead in ensuring that accrual, prepayment, deferred and accrued income balances, allocations and other financial transactions are correctly posted to the Accounts ledger, with supporting reconciliations.
➢ Ensure the delivery of accurate and complete accounting information to strict month end close deadlines.
➢ Analyse, calculate and prepare detailed financial information, including breakdowns of accrual, prepayment, deferred and accrued income balances, liaising with budgetholders where necessary.
➢ Maintain and develop accurate and timely reports, in collaboration with operational and finance teams, facilitating the measurement and monitoring of key areas of performance across the charity.
➢ Take responsibility for the review of performance data, analysis of material variances and the follow up of explanations and resolution with key stakeholders.
➢ Develop strong working relationships with budget holders, operational and finance teams, in order to support them in day to day financial and process matters.
➢ Provide complex financial information for the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, liaising with finance business partners and operational teams to provide accurate information.
➢ Provide information and schedules for the yearend financial statements and the statutory audit, liaising with and providing information to the charity's auditors where necessary.
➢ Provide prompt and value added technical accounting advice as well as responses to queries and requests for information relating to financial transactions, balances and trends.
➢ Review and document financial processes and controls, making recommendations for change where necessary and implementing those changes where they fall within area of responsibility.
➢ Undertake project work where required, including identifying the scope of the project, arranging for data collection and analysis, and the preparation of reports to summarise conclusions.
➢ Be an advocate for good accounting principles; educate, inform and develop others within the wider finance team.
➢ Identify financial risks and support resolution via the implementation of adequate controls.
➢ Work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis teams & wider business to promote & encourage cooperation, collaboration and inclusion across teams and functions.
