Description

We seek a highly skilled and dedicated Fostering Panel Adviser for a public sector client in Nottinghamshire. This role is pivotal to our department, as the adviser will be our expert on all Fostering panel matters, providing crucial supervision, guidance, and support. The successful candidate will be vital in reflecting the team's function and Children's Social Care, following policy, procedures, advice, and legislation.

Responsibility

To work within the legislative and statutory framework, including the 2002 Adoption Act, Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards, Government Guidance, core values, core competency framework strategic aims, and policies and procedures.

Qualification – Essential

* GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

* SW Degree or equivalent.

* Current registration with Social Work England.

* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.

Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience

* Solid experience in fostering and extensive knowledge of fostering regulations to provide advice to the panel.

* Experience in providing quality assurance is - essential for this role.

* Able to be the department's expert on all Fostering panel matters.

* Able to ensure quality documents are presented for the panel and the panel follows minutes.

* Able to provide professional supervision and appraisal to a diverse team of panel members.

* Knowledgeable in Fostering and adopting legislation and regulations and how they apply to the work of the panel.

* Knowledge of the legislative and statutory framework, 2002 Adoption Act, Fostering Regulations 2011

* Knowledge of the National Minimum Standards, Government Guidance, core values, core competency framework strategic aims, policies, and procedures.

* Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice research.

* Knowledge of and understanding of child protection and looking after children's processes.

* Knowledge of Working Together to Safeguard Children and The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations.

* Ability to apply critical reflection and analysis to complex cases.

* Ability to research and incorporate new guidance and procedures into work quickly and effectively and use them to inform professional decision-making.

* Ability to take advantage of and use information technology, including agile working, to be efficient in practice and time management.

* Ability to work within professional and ethical standards, including the Social Work England Code/Standards of Conduct for Social Workers.

* Ability to understand and demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity.

Essential Compliance Requirements

* Five Years of References.

* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS)

* Current registration with Social Work England

* Full Driving Licence

* A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
