Hours of work: Panama shift - -6:30pm-6:30am -2on-2off ,3on-2off,2on-3off.

Position Overview:

Due to the continuing and ongoing restructure of the Engineering Function at Cranswick Gourmet Bacon we are currently looking for an Engineering Team Leader (Nights).

Responsibilities:

To assist the Engineering Supervisor to organise engineering resources and contractors within all site operations and activities to meet the daily production and maintenance requirements of the factory, whilst maintaining a high standard of food and health and safety standards. Working closely with production, operations, and technical to improve engineering standards and efficiencies, and for assisting in the training and development of the engineering team within your area of control. Monitoring and directing the day-to-day running of the engineering team under your control, including workload, record keeping, training requirements, and department responsiveness.

Objectives:

· Maintenance and improvement of all site services, utilities, plant, machinery and buildings

· Maintaining an environment and culture of safe working practices understood and maintained within the site engineering function, encompassing compliance with company, customer & statutory regulations, legislation & guidelines

· Compliance in areas of engineering risk

· Maintenance and continual review of permits to work for both on site engineers, suppliers and contractors

· Maintenance of the Planned Preventative Maintenance System (Pirana)

· Maintaining effective engineering management reporting systems

· Achievement of agreed KPI’s including:

· PPM

· Downtime

· Reactive Maintenance Time

· Project delivery

· Timely and cost-efficient completion of engineering projects

· Training and development of engineering staff

· Continuous identification of ways to reduce costs & improve standards & efficiency across the engineering function

· Ensure engineering standards & procedures are followed across all areas: Staff, Colleagues, Contractors, Suppliers & Equipment

· Provision of an efficient, courteous and responsive engineering department with a ‘can do’ approach to work

· Ensuring the effective storage and maintenance of engineering data/reports / statistics / information. Information to be filed efficiently, being up-to-date, consistent, clearly defined and easily retrievable. Where appropriate set up record keeping systems, both manual and computerised which allow the team to review its progress and effectiveness

· Standards of discipline maintained with regard to contractors and suppliers working within the site environment

· Maintaining a constructive relationship with all internal departments and external contacts Compliance in areas of engineering risk
