Wentworth James Group has engaged with a key client and a leading innovator & supplier of additive technology, that deliver projects to various industry sectors such as Automotive, Food, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Labs & Packaging. Due to business growth and promotions, we are seeking a Technical Manager on a permanent basis to work from the Stafford office.

Overall purpose of role

To provide technical support to our customers and the internal Team. Lead Product Innovations and Product Developments.

Ideally you will have a background of Polymer/Plastic Innovation and experience of a Technical Manager or Quality Manager or New Product Manager (NPD/NPI).

Responsibilities

* Advise/Educate the commercial team to offer the appropriate/most suitable solution based on end application.

* Assist clients with New Product Development (NPD), production trials, and sample procedures.

* Co-ordinate and manage Supplier and Customer Trials

* Carrying out internal audits to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

* Work closely with suppliers on the development and approval of new products and/or new raw materials

* Work closely with contract manufacturers to ensure our additives are produced as per specifications.

* Assist investigation in case of a product complaint / product failure.

* Work on R&D projects, customisations, and innovations internally & externally through strategic collaborations, e.g. universities, independent laboratories & consultants.

* Administrate customer concerns.

* Manage and maintain up to date SDS and CLP labelling.

* Ownership of Product Codes and Product Formulation documents.

Knowledge and Skills

Experienced in QMS/ISO System

Experienced in the manufacture of plastics utilising a variety of polymers & materials

Understanding of microbiology

Chemical & Industrial test methods
