Retail Store Manager in Training (MIT)

Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Store Manager-in-Training (MIT) will be immersed in learning all aspects of managing a Red Wing Shoe Store.  Training will take place through on-the-job experiences while learning under the guidance of their Area Retail Manager (ARM), Region Operations Manager, and other partners.  You will support the Red Wing Shoe store by building loyalty and long-lasting relationships with our customers. This is achieved by promoting our Ultimate Fit Experience, selling our premium products, and providing conscientious customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guide each customer through RWSC’s Ultimate Fit Experience
Provide appropriate accessory recommendation, educate customers on the benefits of each
Generate Industrial Sales Leads
Achieve and exceed daily productivity and sales goals
Maintain the integrity of the sales floor presentation, store signage, and housekeeping standards
Maintain proficiency with product knowledge, technical, and operating standards through continuous learning
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and legal regulations
Support direct report in daily operations of the retail store
Work directly with the Area Retail Manager to understand the inventory management process/procedures
Work directly with ARM on store schedules, understanding labor model, and monthly store budgets
Will assist ARM in analyzing monthly P&L statements to ensure store profitability
Temporarily assume Store Manager responsibilities in a store without a Store Manager until one is appointed
Provide store coverage in local market as determined by Region Operations Manager
Work closely with the ARM in identifying training gaps and implementation of training at the store level
Participate and assist in special projects such as relocations, grand opening events, and store remodels
Take part in building and sustaining high employee morale
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of RWSC’s electronic communication software
Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards

Willingness to perform additional duties as required
