Have you worked in a workshop or engineering environment? Or do you have an interest in working for a metalwork/manufacturing company? If you said yes to either question and live near Maldon then please get in touch!
As a trainee fabricator you will be learning alongside a skilled sheet metal fabricator to operate punching, notching and CNC machinery. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work in a busy production environment and be physically fit enough to lift metal.
The company will provide in house training, 24 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and early Friday finishes!
For the suitable candidate a starting salary would be circa £24,000, if you can already use machinery and have worked as a fabricator, the starting salary could would be higher.
Working hours are 07:00-16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:00-12:00 on a Friday. Due to the hours and location of the role, you will need to have your own transport.
What will I be learning?
How to operate different sheet metal machines (break press, punch press etc)
Improving on how to read technical drawings
How to produce parts in accordance with drawings
To safely operate machinery independently
To maintain a clean and tidy workshop spaceYou will be required to have some knowledge and experience of working from engineering drawings, ideally from your college course, or any related work experience.
