Our client delivers technical and energy services to a wide range of clients across the UK. They have a permanent requirement for a Quantity Surveyor, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Vacancy - 1x Quantity Surveyor.
Address - Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6QE
Duration – Permanent.
Hours - 42.5 hours Monday to Friday.
Require - Experience as an Quantity Surveyor working on projects no less than £5m in value.
Duties –
Contractual Risk Management:
* Undertake the analysis of contract conditions as part of the estimating process.
* Post-tender negotiations including acceptance of conditions up to contract award.
Pre-Contract – Cost Re-imbursement:
* Review actual or anticipated costs associated with design development, coordination and construction drawing preparation and any programme change, and ensure appropriate recovery.
Contract Cost Control & Valuations:
* Cost Control, Project Control and Project Management is the collective responsibility of the project team. The surveying function have a responsibility for the effectiveness and accuracy of the information produced including the proper evaluation of liabilities and entitlement.
* Progress timely payment
* Obtain client Credit Status Reports as appropriate
Variations Entitlements:
* The surveyor should identify Variations, confirm their value, and agree payment with the client
* Manage the credit control process for the project.
Control of Sub-contractors:
* Quantity Surveyor should ensure high quality control of sub-contractor accounts from tender enquiry documentation to sub-contract negotiation, and account payments. Accurate sub-contract liabilities correspondence and noticing leading to accurate and profitable final accounts.
Dispute Resolution:
* When disputes arise the Quantity Surveyor will administer the contract and work with the project team to ensure a satisfactory commercial solution.
Rate - £70,000 - £90,000 dependant on experience
