Position: Air Freight Import Operator
Location: Farnborough
Job Type: Permanent, Monday - Friday 09:00am - 17:30pm (Approx)
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (DEO)
Our client, a Global Freight Forwarder, is looking to appoint an Air Freight Import Operator with experience dealing with end-to-end air import operations to join their team.
Your key responsibilities as an Air Freight Operator:
Managing shipments on an end-to-end' operational basis from quotation, execution and client invoicing.
Responding to quote requests in a timely efficient manner for external and internal clients.
Booking of shipments with carriers
Ensure data is accurately entered into all systems following company best practice
Resolving day-to-day issues with Clients and Vendors.
Proactive communication to both internal and external clients with any identified actual or potential service issue.
Responding to service updates and status updates as required by internal and external clients.
Liaise with airlines and overseas agents
Negotiate directly with air freight carriers to achieve best pricing
Requirements:
Experienced in start-to-finish operations from rate negotiation to invoicing
Must have prior experience working across Air Freight operations - Road & Sea freight experience desirable
Confident in managing own accounts and liaising with overseas agents and carriers
Comprehensive understanding of import regimes and understanding of Customs procedures
Comprehensive understanding of CDS/CHIEF
