MPJ Recruitment are pleased to be working with one of the UK’s leading insurance companies. They’re currently looking for a Professional Indemnity New Business Underwriter to join their Commercial Financial Lines team.
No two days will be the same in this role, you’ll utilise your natural flair for relationship building and liaise with Brokers, providing excellent service and confidently deal with people over the phone, at industry events and face to face.
You’ll utilise data and insight to empower your decision making, helping us to transform how we partner our broker portfolios. You’ll be focused on developing and delivering profitable growth across new business within the key markets.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Deliver on trading team targets through profitable underwriting of our Professional Indemnity product for New Business, whilst developing key relationships and credibility with brokers and customers
* You’ll be proactive, outgoing and confident in dealing with our partner brokers across your region, retaining and maximising business through the delivery of exceptional customer service
* Underwrite our Professional Indemnity product for SME customers profitably, accurately, consistently using the full range of appetite and tools available
* Contributing to meetings with brokers to secure clients
* Monitor the overall performance of the book you’re responsible for and ensuring remedial action is taken to correct any performance issues
* Developing broker relationships to enhance their knowledge of our products and appetite
* Take ownership of a specialism within the Financial Lines trade sectors
What We’re Looking For:
* High level of technical underwriting skills
* Cert CII qualification with DIP CII is desirable
* Strong trading capability, commercial awareness and expert negotiation skills
* Ability to build strong relationships
* Excellent analytical skills with experience of account monitoring and action planning
* Good knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance
* A confident decision maker with meticulous numerical reasoning skills
