Lifelines Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Safe Care Coordinator to join our team. As a nonprofit organization committed to promoting the safety and well-being of individuals and families, we strive to create a positive and supportive environment for all. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the Safe Care program, which aims to prevent child abuse and neglect, in families affected by prenatal substance use exposure, through education, advocacy, and community collaboration. You will work closely with community partners, conduct trainings and workshops, and provide support and resources to families in need.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of the Safe Care program.
Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Provide support and resources to a caseload of families in need, including referrals to appropriate services from the Department of Human Resources, Juvenile Court and other community organizations..
Participate in community outreach activities to raise awareness about families affected by prenatal substance exposure in pregnant women, mothers, infants children and/or caregivers.
Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop and implement strategies for program growth and sustainability.
Stay up-to-date on best practices and research in the field of child abuse prevention.
Assist in preparing reports and grant proposals as needed.
Support the development of policies and procedures to implement the SAFE Care program.
Create connections with community partners to recruit for and develop active champions.
Support Steering Committee in convening and facilitation of meetings to promote collective impact for systems change.
Engage families early in prenatal care and ensure their input is valued through court and/or DHR involvement (if applicable)
In collaboration with Leadership Team and Steering Committee develop, compile, create and distribute communications and promotional materials.
Requirements
Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field (preferred) which requires documentation of the degree with graduate practicum or six months clinical supervision under an experienced preferred (2 years min), licensed mental health professional, or licensed BSW bachelor’s degree with extensive verifiable experience working with addiction, recovery, direct services, case planning, resource allocation, treatment planning and coordination with vulnerable families.
Social Work License preferred.
Three (3) years child welfare experiences with two (2) years of increasing responsibilities preferred; clinical supervision experience, preferred.
Professional experiences and strong knowledge of C/AN reporting and intervention, foster care, court-ordered dependency cases, child-welfare and criminal court system.
Prior experience in coordinating or implementing community programs, preferably in the field of child welfare or parenting programs.
Knowledge of child abuse prevention strategies, trauma-informed care, and community resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse populations.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Experience in data collection and analysis is a plus.
Passion for promoting the well-being of children and families.
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
