Job Description
As a Human Resources Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department, ensuring a smooth onboarding for new employees, educating teammates about various policies and procedures, and providing essential support to the broader Alliance Animal Health hospital network. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to excellence in the veterinary industry.
Employee Life Cycle Management & Employee Relations:
Assists in the onboarding and offboarding process; managing the appropriate processes within the Company’s HRIS, ADP WorkforceNow, to capture relevant information for new hires and leavers.
Organization, administration, and maintenance of employee personnel records, e.g. employee files, I-9s, payroll, and change records.
Assist with reviewing and writing job descriptions.
Provide support for creating and updating processes and workflows.
Educate new hires about HR policies, internal procedures and relevant regulations
Address teammate inquiries, concerns and help foster a strong Alliance Animal Health pack culture
General HR Management:
Provides first level support to Regional team and partner practices on general HR questions around benefits, payroll or HR related questions
Provides employee relations support, including conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and performance improvement counseling.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory state training including tracking and completing federal required reporting
Management of Worker's Comp issues, requirements, and audits
Employee Agreements/Contracts management, including VISA renewals
Unemployment Claims Management
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, and employment law
Other duties:
Establishes and develops a pro-active relationship and communication channels with the Regional Operations team and Central Support employees.
Participate in assigned projects ranging anywhere from financial or workers compensation audits, benefit reconciliations of invoices and carrier connections.
Assist with housekeeping of employee data in our HRIS system
Performs other duties as assigned
