Overview
This is an opportunity to join a major multi-site UK food business as Technical Director. You will have ultimate responsibility for the company’s Technical relationships with the major retailers including M&S and Tesco. This is a fast-paced chilled business already well established but with huge growth plans.
The Role
* Champion market-leading product quality initiatives and maintain a robust quality framework across all operational facets.
* Cultivate strong partnerships with third-party suppliers, emphasizing sustainability and mutual benefit.
* Interpret and implement customer policies pertaining to technical, ethical, social, and environmental concerns.
* Facilitate effective communication channels across the organization, including customer and supplier engagements, operational reviews, and industry forums.
* Provide up-to-date technical guidance and insights to address specific areas of responsibility.
* Proactively monitor market trends to anticipate future needs and maintain our competitive edge.
* Lead crisis management efforts to mitigate disruptions and safeguard brand reputation.
* Drive research and innovation agendas in collaboration with suppliers and customers.
* Identify and prioritize Supply Chain projects to support strategic initiatives.
The Candidate
* Proven track record in a similar leadership role, with demonstrated proficiency in managing technical teams and functions.
* Extensive experience in developing and executing technical and ethical strategies.
* Background in senior technical roles.
* Familiarity with major UK/EU retailers' requirements and expectations.
* In-depth understanding of industry trends and operational environments.
* Proficiency in relevant systems and processes.
