Senior Development Chemist

A leading manufacturer of cosmetic and personal care products are currently looking to recruit a development chemist or senior chemist to their team based in West Yorkshire.
Bringing previous formulation experience from the industry, with a preference for hair care experience, the successful candidate will join a well established and respected company.
Key responsibilities:
* Development of new formulations and execution of lab work
* Technical expertise, responsibility and point of contact for all developments and post production ageing stability and changes to existing products
* Design of formulations according to the technical briefings from the Business Units
* Preparation of customer samples
* Supporting Head of Quality and Realisation in managing the workload
* Stakeholder management with relevant functions and departements
* Support for Scale-up and first production (Implementation)
* Solution-orientated support for QM, scale-up and production in quality cases
* Creating technical presentations to support sales. Supporting Sales in recipe, technology and trend issues
* Assuming responsibility for the semifinished product throughout the entire product development process up to initial production
* Carrying out risk assessments for formulations (legal aspects, stability, expected results in consumer tests etc...) and representing decisions made independently on this basis
Skills, experience and qualifications:
* BSc (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or related subject
* Previous cosmetic/personal care formulation experience
* Ideally some experience within hair care formulations
* Ability to work safely unsupervised and ensure role priorities are met
* Good organisational skills
* Good interpersonal skills
