Our client is a long established Manufacturer and market leader in its particular field.

The Production Panner is responsible for planning production volumes on 8 lines in two locations and ensuring raw material scheduling, focusing on daily raw material consumption and ensuring inventory accuracy. The operation is fast paced, to ensure a rapid customer response time for both orders and enquiries.

COMPETENCE: EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE.

* Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, agile manufacturing background / environment.

* Must be able to plan and maintain Supply Chain functions such as materials, production, inventory and logistics.

* Ability to liaise with suppliers/hauliers and manage relationships to ensure effective company performance.

* Strong production planning skills with an ability to make quick, last minute decisions.

* Knowledge of production / manufacturing processes and lead times.

* Enthusiastic to want to prove themselves and take on additional duties when required.

* Familiar with Importation procedures

* Excellent team player with good communication skills.

* Proficient with Sage, Microsoft Office and especially Excel. ERP experience would also be advantageous.

1. OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Manage the daily raw material schedule based on the production plan.

* Manage the production plan to ensure all orders are placed in the correct sequence on production lines ensuring a rapid response to the sales team so customers are clear on lead times.

* Provide rapid production plan scenario advice to the sales team on order enquires so customers are aware of lead times.

* Manage suppliers and transport companies to ensure raw materials are available on the site at the correct time.

* Manage outside storage logistics to ensure raw materials are available on site at the correct time.

* Manage any special product packaging requirements through the planning process and inventory levels to ensure the correct availability of items and communicate with purchasing if additional items or stock is required.

* Ensure communication through the organisation if line stoppages occur that will affect completion dates

* Advise on plant capacity levels to ensure sales fully understand any issues.

* Update and maintain purchase order due dates to ensure accurate information is available for management overviews.

* Report on suppliers OTIF performance.

* Report and work with the team to identify and rectify any stock discrepancies.

* Carry out the duties of other team members from time to time and cover others holidays as required.

* Manage subcontracted pre-blending, grinding and repacking stock movements.

* Ensuring self and team are working within Health and Safety policy requirements

* Liaise with purchasing on raw material requirements

* To liaise with suppliers/transport companies on raw material delivery requirements.

* To supply both written and verbal reports to the Operations Manager and to always ensure they are kept fully informed of changes on the plan and any issues that may affect plant efficiency.

* Attendance of daily planning and production meetings

Salary up to £33k

25 days holiday + statutory

Working hours are Mon-Thur – 08:45 – 17:00, Fri – 08:45 – 15:00.
