Software Developer/Engineer

As the Sr Software Developer/Engineer, you will provide Cross Domain Solution (CDS) technical services for the program.  You will perform analysis and make recommendations for implementing updates/upgrades to the current CDSs and/or development of a new CDS.  SEWS currently operates within three geographic CCMD's areas of responsibility (U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), and U.S. India Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) in support of the Department of State (DOS), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and US Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) missions.
Clearance: Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
Travel Required: Yes (Ability to travel approximately 6-7 weeks a year)
Requirements
 Essential Functions
Ensure the SEWS CDSs are properly maintained and remain in an operational state.
Provide support for CDS-related issues, ensuring the issue is resolved quickly and corrective actions are well documented.
Perform analysis of CDS impacts when modifications or new solutions are encountered.
Provide recommendations for the best course of action to address CDS-related modifications.
Perform engineering-level testing on CDS updates/modifications and document results.
Maintain the secure status of the CDSs by testing and implementing security/vulnerability updates when available.
Perform required backup and restore functions on the CDSs.
Travel to CDS sites to perform updates/installations, provide CDS-related training as requested.
Work with the CDS vendor when a new build is being developed, providing guidance and assisting with the testing.
Maintain awareness of Raise the Bar (RTB) requirements and ensure the CDSs are in compliance with updates.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, Master’s preferred
5+ years of software development experience
In-depth knowledge of SELinux, Python, Perl, C++, Java, bash, regular expressions
Ability to perform reverse engineering to analyze items identified above
Ability to learn new programming concepts
Ability to troubleshoot issues and make appropriate modifications
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must have an active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP), CISSP preferred.
The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
Ability to travel approximately 6-7 weeks a year.
