We are currently seeking to appoint a Systems Analyst based at our Head Office in Stirling.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Systems Analyst to join our dedicated team in Stirling. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to all of our hostels throughout the network, ensuring the smooth operation of their IT systems. This role is crucial in the delivery, management and support of all IT related systems and applications within Hostelling Scotland, providing technical guidance and support.

Do you have experience with monitoring tools and the ability to monitor network performance? Are you able to analyse complex network issues and have the ability to install, configure and maintain network devices, including routers, firewalls and network operating systems? Do you have a passion for continuous knowledge and development enabling you to remain up to date in the IT industry?

You would be happy to provide support throughout the network on internet-related issues, including connectivity, performance degradation and security concerns keeping our hostels up and running. Our colleagues will depend on you to participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for emergencies and maintenance as the hostels open early and close late. You will liaise with colleagues and department managers as required to assist with projects and also maintain the firewall protection to ensure no security threats get through and damages the integrity of the system. We have hostels from Glasgow through to Kirkwall, Edinburgh over to the Scottish Islands. You will have the opportunity to meet your colleagues throughout all our locations and see some of the amazing landscapes Scotland has to offer whilst at the same time, keeping the network up and running.

We would like you to have an IT related qualification and be able demonstrate the ability to support and administer our IT network? We would also like you to have a technical knowledge of common network configurations such a Microsoft Server and Active Directory, VMware, data backup, disaster recovery, firewall configuration and O365. Be able to demonstrate knowledge with internet/intranet environment and associated technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS/ DHCP, routing and VPN’s.

As you may have to travel throughout the network, a full manual driving licence would be beneficial.
