Job Overview:

This is a key role on an interim basis to lead financial delivery of the ERP implementation, and requires strong ERP background. You’ll be involved in the day-to day operational management of the Management Accountant. Focus on delivering monthly accounts, budgets & forecasts, and introducing a robust reporting suite to transition to Power BI. You will be working with various business units to ensure accurate production of reports for Stakeholders. Execute adhoc tasks set by Head of Central Services. Reporting is a key part of this role, and it includes: MA’s Budget ‘v’ Actual ‘v’ Forecast Consolidated and Divisional Levels, Board View, SLT View, Operational View, Company Communications View, Financial Statements View.

Primary Role:

Leadership: Day-to-day management of (1) Management Accountant

Management Accounts: Utilise the capabilities of the ERP system to efficiently and accurately generate monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure that the financial data is properly recorded and reconciled within the ERP system. Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant information and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.

Forecasts and Budgeting: Leverage the ERP system's forecasting and budgeting modules to develop accurate and comprehensive financial forecasts and budgets. Work closely with stakeholders and departmental managers to gather data inputs and understand business drivers. Provide analysis and recommendations based on forecasted results and assist in the annual budgeting process.

Reporting Suite Development: Use the ERP system's reporting capabilities to design and implement a robust reporting suite that meets the needs of stakeholders. Develop standard reports, dashboards, and key financial metrics to provide actionable insights into financial performance and trends. Customise reports and transition report suite to Power BI to address specific requirements of various users, including management, executives, and departmental heads.

Data Analysis and Insights: Utilise the data within the ERP system to perform detailed financial analysis and extract meaningful insights. Analyse financial performance against KPIs, benchmarks, and industry standards. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on the analysis to improve financial decision-making and operational effectiveness.

Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities to leverage the features and functionalities of the ERP system to streamline and automate financial processes. Collaborate with Financial Operations Manager and stakeholders to improve workflows, eliminate duplications, and enhance process efficiency. Identify areas where the ERP system can be further integrated to enhance financial reporting and analysis.

Operational Excellence: Work closely with Senior Management to increase the company’s efficiency and profitability by supporting the Head of Central Services the formulation of the medium and long-term financial planning, budgeting and forecasting activities.

Risk, Governance & Compliance: Ensure that the company fulfils its financial and legal/corporate governance obligations whilst mitigating its risk exposure.

Metrics: Develop and implement KPIs & MPIs to identify data driven insights to aid decision making in line with the company strategy.

Objectives: Set clear and measurable objectives to support the company strategy and develop initiatives to support the team to achieve the set goals.

Business Improvement: Providing insights to identify business improvement opportunities in line with the company strategy.

ERP Implementation and Integration: The organisation is embarking upon implementing either a new ERP system or undergoing an upgrade. This role will contribute to the successful implementation and integration of the finance function within the ERP system. Collaborate with IT teams, functional leads, and stakeholders to define financial requirements, configure the system, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

CPD: Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices

Your responsibilities will include:

Leadership:

* Lead and inspire the Management Accountant, providing guidance, coaching and mentorship through the ERP transition to develop existing skillset.

* Set goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and drive performance and quality of your team to meet KPI’s and exceed service expectations.

* Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture

Operational Excellence:

* Support the Head of Central Services and senior management with the production of forecasts to model outcomes of financial strategies.

* Monitor and evaluate KPIs - identifying areas for improvement.

* Drive process understanding, awareness and compliance within the financial reporting function with a view to strive for improvements and operational efficiency.

* Review & align processes and procedures with internal & external business partners.

Risk, Governance and Compliance:

* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal control policies within the ERP system. Aswell as addressing controls/fraud concerns within the business.

* Implement and monitor controls and safeguards to protect the integrity and confidentiality of financial data.

* Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support audit processes.

* Oversee financial processes, including preparation of reports.

General:

* A strong ERP background in this role enables the management accountant to leverage the full capabilities of the ERP system to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and process efficiency. It allows for seamless integration of financial functions within the ERP system, providing stakeholders with accurate and timely financial information for decision-making.

* Provide support as deputy to the Financial Operations Manager in staff management support, and provide guidance and support on Financial Reporting matters to senior management and cross-functional teams.

* Collaborate with Financial Operations Manager and other departments to drive system enhancements and process improvements. You will also support ad-hoc financial or cross departmental projects and initiatives as required.

* Support the Head of Central Services to drive data integrity and collaborate with the Financial Operations Manager to develop the company report suite dashboard to deliver ‘real time’ meaningful insights.

* Collaborate with the Head of Central Services and senior management to develop and implement financial strategies & plans.

* Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

* Preparing business cases to support operational business decisions.

* Strong leadership skills

* Excellent communications skills - ability to motivate others at all levels of the company

* Strong influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to utilise a collaborative approach whilst implementing process change

* High level of commercial acumen

* Significant analytical skillset to evaluate data, interpret outcomes and make recommendations for change management

* Strong ERP transition knowledge - preferably NAV/BC365

* Knowledge of Automation Tools and Power BI an advantage

* Strength to challenge or query in a positive way and mitigate team conflict and communication problems

* Ability to work on own initiative and ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
