Job Title: Senior PowerBI Analyst
Location: West Midlands
Job Type: Full-Time
Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior PowerBI Analyst with a deep understanding of DAX, SQL, and Synapse Analytics coupled with relevant financial report generation knowledge to join our client's UK-based team.
The successful candidate will:
-have previous experience of mentoring a team of developers
- be adept at managing data pipelines, working with data exports in Business Central
- possess a solid understanding of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain advanced PowerBI dashboards and reports to drive business decisions.
* Expertly craft DAX formulas for complex calculations and data analysis within PowerBI.
* Utilise SQL queries to manipulate and retrieve data efficiently from various databases.
* Implement and manage data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
* Work with data exports from Business Central to optimise data usage in PowerBI.
* Leverage Synapse Analytics to handle large volumes of data and perform big data analytics.
* Provide insights into financial reports including General Ledger (GL), Profit & Loss (P&L), and Balance Sheets.
* Collaborate with finance teams to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
* Conduct training sessions for staff on PowerBI functionalities and best practices.
* Stay abreast of the latest developments in BI technology and financial data analysis.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Finance, or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in a PowerBI-focused role with strong DAX and SQL skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Synapse Analytics and understanding of data warehousing solutions.
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and data export processes.
* Solid foundation in financial reporting and accounting principles.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex data in a clear manner.
* Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
