My client, a large, accessible, energetic and successful regional law firm that puts their people and clients at the heart of everything they do is looking for a finance assistant to join their busy accounts team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts including accruals, prepayments & journals
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Maintenance of fixed assets & prepare depreciation schedules Preparation of quarterly VAT return
* Overhead/Variance analysis
* Checking & posting bills
* Ad-hoc reporting
* Send month end reports to partners
* Month end processing and switch over
* Dealing with residual balances
* Bank reconciliations
* Posting petty cash and reconciliation
* Ensure all client transactions comply with Solicitors Accounts Rules
* Input purchase ledger invoices on to system
* Carry out general administration tasks as required
* Produce ad-hoc MI using excel
* Maintain confidentially in all matters relating to Partnership finances & client accounts
* Assist with auditors requests
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Previous experience within an accounts function
* Attention to detail
* Team orientated with a professional approach
* Excellent communication and organisation skills
* Excellent IT skills including intermediate level MS Excel
* AAT qualified or equivalent - desired
