Job Description
AECOM are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer specializing in traffic management and lighting to join our team in Middleton, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have expertise in traffic engineering principles and experience in designing and implementing traffic control systems, as well as lighting solutions. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize traffic flow and enhance safety.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive traffic studies and analyses to assess current conditions, identify issues, and propose solutions for improving traffic flow and safety.
Design and implement traffic control measures, including traffic signals, signs, markings, and road geometries, to optimize traffic flow and minimize congestion.
Utilize traffic engineering software and tools to develop detailed traffic signal timing plans, phasing diagrams, and signal coordination strategies.
Collaborate with transportation planners, urban designers, and other professionals to integrate traffic management solutions with urban development and infrastructure projects.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and standards related to traffic engineering, lighting design, and road safety.
Prepare project proposals, budgets, and schedules, and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure materials and equipment needed for traffic and lighting projects.
Respond to inquiries and address concerns from clients, government agencies, and the public regarding traffic management and lighting projects.
Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in traffic engineering, and road safety.
