The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is primarily responsible for the accounting and reporting related to stock-based compensation and leases.
Job Responsibilities: Perform the accounting for stock-based compensation and equity related accounting, including preparing monthly journal entries, calculations of basic and diluted earnings per share, review of equity grant valuations, monthly reporting and analysis, as well as share and balance sheet reconciliations.
Perform the accounting for the Companys lease obligations, including assessment of lease classification, identification of embedded leases, maintaining the lease accounting database, monthly reporting and analysis, and the related balance sheet reconciliations.
Support disclosures related to stock-based compensation, equity, and leases including preparing quarterly and annual disclosures and disclosure check lists for our SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10- K, and the annual proxy statement.
Serve as a key technical accounting resource for stock-based compensation, equity, earnings per share, and leases. Review and evaluation of new and unusual business transactions to determine the appropriate accounting treatment in compliance with U.S. GAAP and preparation of whitepapers supporting accounting conclusions.
As needed, may support other technical accounting and reporting functions of the financial reporting department, which may include the following: pensions and post-retirement benefits, natural gas derivatives, revenue recognition, asset retirement obligations, impairment, and the investor relations quarterly earnings materials.
Internal Controls: Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal control deficiencies.
Successful incumbents will have:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
CPA certification or active CPA candidate.
Technical knowledge in accounting and internal controls: must possess a solid degree of technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting.
5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience in private industry, including experience in technical accounting and/or financial reporting.
Some experience in public accounting is preferred. Knowledge of FASB and SEC rules and regulations, and the ability to apply business and financial concepts, with knowledge of ASC 718, ASC 260, and ASC 842 a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Workiva and SAP experience a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
