Overview

We are currently recruiting in conjunction with our client for a Naval Instructor – Marine Engineering Technician to join their team in Dhahran Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Naval Specialist Training (NST) at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS), located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dammam. Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for training the Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF) students in the basic principles of welding, cutting (MMA, Oxyacetylene), sheet metalwork fabrication, GRP, ships systems (sewage treatment, ventilation) and firefighting and damage control equipment and fixed firefighting systems.      

Job Accountabilities

The post holder is responsible for:

Delivering Naval Specialty Training curriculum (including relevant elements of Basic Skills Training), and, in particular, Hull Technician specific elements.
Supporting invigilation activities for assessments.
Supporting remedial training activities.
Writing assessment materials.
Supporting the continuous improvement of courseware materials and media.
Writing student reports as required, to meet customer requirements.
The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by their line manager, which aligns with company business.
The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.

Complete SDT mandatory training.   
Skills and experience

Essential

Be a graduate of an advanced military trade school or an industry equivalent.
Have proven experience performing the role of Hull Technician (Welding, Cutting & sheet metalwork) or equivalent experience. 
Desirable

Have recent instructional experience.
Have successfully completed an approved / accredited Instructional Techniques course.
Be GRP qualified.
Be Ships systems qualified.
CBRNDC 35’s, Intermediate Sea Survival Course (ISSC or firefighting qualified).
