Family Christian Center is a non-profit/faith-based creative and dynamic non-denominational, multicultural and multigenerational ministry who loves and leads through the spirit of Jesus Christ. We are the 13th largest church in America with a legacy and heritage of over 40 years. FCC is known within our community as well as national for our annual production Jesus of Nazareth. We have a creative department that facilitates productions with well over 700 volunteers on stage and behind the scenes.
We are seeking a Performing Arts Director (Artistic Director) with at least over 5 years experience and a BA in a related field is recommended.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Maintain a culture of honor, respect, execellence in communication and execution of all aspects of the department that are inline with the vision of the ministry.
Develop and cultivate relationships with the community eg. surrounding ministeries, schools and community theather companies and other collaborators.
To lead the development and production of a dynamic and coherent range of work, as agreed with the Artistic Director, and support the producing team to deliver the same
To ensure the artistic vision and expression meets Family Christian Center objectives around participation opportunities multigenerational volunteers and those with diffent levels of experience.
To work with the creative arts (music, media, performmance) ministry to establish and develop strategic artistic collaborations, partnerships and joint projects and develop long-term strategic relationships with partners to extend our reach
Lead multiple performing arts departments and provide oversight, guidance, discipleship, growth opportunites for each volunteer department director
Recurit, manage, train all directors and volunteers within the ministry
Conduct rehearsals with actors, schedule and lead meetings with Creative Team and Performing Arts Team
To oversee the production of detailed and accurate show information for the organization, on all performing arts events under the remit of the producing team
Administration and Finance:
To lead, motivate and manage the performing arts team; to ensure that appropriate management and administrative systems are in place for the efficient management of department recruitment, performance appraisal, Health & Safety, contracting, meetings etc.
Code of Conduct, policy and procedure implementation and execution
To set appropriate financial targets, with the Financial Dept, and manage budgets in order to achieve these.
Marketing and Communication:
Work with the marketing team to deliver audiences and press coverage for all performing arts related activity
To supply up to date information to the Marketing team for use on all marketing and press inforamtion
To ensure the performing arts programme achieves a high profile through flagging up potential creative campaign ideas to the Marketing department.
To work with the development team, to raise funding and sponsorships for productions and events
This is a full time position and insurance is offered as well as vacation time
