Moldmaker

Our client is a manufacturing company specializing in injection molds. The position is contract to direct and is located at their facility in Sterling Heights. There are openings on both days as well as evenings.
OVERVIEW:
As a Moldmaker, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining molds used in the manufacturing process. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work with precision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Build and repair molds used in the production of various parts
* Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine mold requirements
* Utilize CAD software to design molds and create detailed drawings
* Operate machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate mold components
* Use CAM programming to generate tool paths for CNC machines
* Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize mold designs for efficiency and functionality
* Conduct quality checks on finished molds to ensure accuracy and proper functioning
* Assemble, fit, and adjust mold components as necessary
* Perform welding and other fabrication tasks as needed
* Maintain a clean and organized work area
SKILLS:
* Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
* Strong knowledge of CAM programming for CNC machines
* Experience with CAD software for mold design
* Familiarity with tooling concepts and techniques
* Ability to operate stamping presses for mold production
* Skilled in assembly, fitting, and adjustment of mold components
* Competency in using calipers and other precision measuring tools
* Proficient in welding techniques for mold fabrication
* Knowledge of programming languages used in machining operations
