LOCATION: RIVERSIDE COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM - WESTERN COUNTY LITERACY OFFICE - JURUPA VALLEY
HOURS PER WEEK: 40
The Library Associate 2 will be responsible for various aspects of the Riverside County Library System’s Library Connect mobile libraries' operations, programs, and services. This includes mobile outreach, library, and literacy programs implementation, and visiting and presenting at community locations throughout Riverside County. They will work under the Literacy Associate 3 and Literacy Services Coordinator and work closely with Literacy Department staff, library staff, and community site partners to facilitate and promote literacy and library programs. Due to Library Connect routes being at various sites throughout the community, working outdoors is required. This position will be housed at the Louis Robidoux Library.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
Works closely with the Literacy Department and library staff to plan, implement, and promote literacy activities, programs, and projects within the various Library Connect community stops
Facilitate family literacy and adult literacy projects for the Library Connect stops in Riverside County
Conduct outreach and represent the Riverside County Library System and Literacy Department at community events
Reports to and assists Literacy Services Coordinator and Literacy Assistant Coordinator 
Assists Literacy Associate 3 in Library Connect’s daily operations
Maintains databases for reporting purposes
Performs various library duties at Library Connect stops, such as check-in/check-out books, processing library card applications, and processing book holds
Works out-doors at the various Library Connect sites
Knows and understands the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenant of a public library.  In addition to these freedoms, support client discretion of materials available at your local library
Follows all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.
 H.S. degree or GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
 Two years of library experience preferred                                                                   
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications such as Zoom
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Multilingual speaking a plus
Experience in community outreaching preferred                                                                 
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Driver's license required
Physical Requirements:  
Must be able to move from place to place within the location; lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to (25) pounds and occasional up to (35) pounds such as files, books, stacks of paper, and other materials.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens, and detailed paperwork.
Ability to assist the diversity of patrons at various Library Connect stops
