Position Summary
The Application Programmer Analyst is responsible for supporting administrative systems by providing technical support, training, and guidance to departments and end-users, as well as performing system administration, configuration, and programming tasks. This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and/or functional administration for several enterprise applications, including but not limited to Ellucian Colleague, Atlassian Jira and Confluence, and Salto door access.
Evaluate, design, test, and implement programming/scripting solutions to enhance application functionality.
Integrate applications with Ellucian Colleague following best practices as documented by vendors and adhering to North Park’s information security policies and procedures.
Train IT colleagues and other institutional personnel in proper application usage and security.
Document decisions, changes, and customizations using appropriate systems in IT.
Communicate about forthcoming updates to systems and applications in a timely manner to IT colleagues and institutional personnel.
Manage access control for assigned systems and applications according to principle of least privilege.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in analytical discipline, preferably IT, Business Analytics or similar.
Strong technical and analytical abilities.
Ability to work effectively and productively from a remote location as needed.
Communication and problem-solving skills.
Self-driven and able to learn with or without formal training.
Demonstrated aptitude and interest in information systems design and programming/scripting.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work with minimal supervision.
Willingness to occasionally work off-hours to maintain availability of critical systems.
High speed internet connectivity at home.
