Position Purpose:
Directs operational personnel in the operation of the facility; ensures effective plant performance and compliance with permit standards. 
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Manages the operation of all plant equipment on all shifts.
Communicates with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and staff to ensure that plant resources are being utilized to achieve project objectives.
Ensures that consistent process control procedures are followed in all plant areas and on all shifts; and that uniform monitoring and record keeping are performed plant wide.
Advises subordinates in diagnosing complex operational and maintenance problems.
Monitors all budget elements to ensure cost-effective service while meeting budget; develops annual budgets for Project Manager review.
Trains subordinates in supervisory, operational, safety, and maintenance programs.
Communicates and coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor and Assistant Project Manager regarding maintenance activities required and their impact on process.
Reviews subordinates' performance in accordance with Veolia procedures.
Aggressively supervises subordinate employees to assure work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
Promotes morale, and provides staff with an atmosphere of open communication, innovation, and job growth.
Performs as Assistant Superintendent in the absence of the Project Manager.
Performs safety training and provides necessary time for off-shift crews to ensure training and other communication as needed.
Supervision Received: Verbal and written instructions from the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager.
Supervision Given: Verbal and written instructions to the Chief Operators and Operators.
Work Environment:
Requires working in outside and inside environments with noise and all temperatures and climatic conditions and must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.
