Packing Plant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the packing plant to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.

• Supervise, train, and motivate plant staff to meet productivity and quality targets.

• Develop and implement operational plans, schedules, and budgets.

• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety (e.g., HACCP), quality, and safety standards.

• Oversee maintenance of equipment and machinery, coordinating timely repairs and preventive maintenance.

• Implement and enforce health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and quality assurance teams to streamline operations.

• Analyze plant performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.

• Manage inventory of packaging materials and ensure proper stock levels.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste.

• Handle employee relations, including recruitment, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.

• Ensure compliance with all local regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Technology, or a related field preferred.

• Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) managing a packing plant or similar production facility.

• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP), quality control, and health and safety standards.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

• Familiarity with production planning software and inventory management systems.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in the food import/export or cold storage industry.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.

• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change.
