Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the packing plant to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
Supervise, train, and motivate plant staff to meet productivity and quality targets.
Develop and implement operational plans, schedules, and budgets.
Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety (e.g., HACCP), quality, and safety standards.
Oversee maintenance of equipment and machinery, coordinating timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
Implement and enforce health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and quality assurance teams to streamline operations.
Analyze plant performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.
Manage inventory of packaging materials and ensure proper stock levels.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
Handle employee relations, including recruitment, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
Ensure compliance with all local regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Technology, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) managing a packing plant or similar production facility.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP), quality control, and health and safety standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Familiarity with production planning software and inventory management systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in the food import/export or cold storage industry.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change.
