AKKA’s Embedded Software team is growing thanks to successful growth and achievements over the last few years in the Defence industry. The team provides a wide range of flexible support across development and test, supporting larger critical programmes for our Defence customers.
As an experienced engineer you will be expected to bring a wealth of knowledge along with an open “problem solving” mind. Flexibility and strategy are key to providing our consultative services and in return we can offer autonomous working environment.
What you will need
·Embedded development for Microcontrollers
·Targeted Bare metal Development (No OS)
·Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UARTS, CAN
·Interaction with Firmware/FPGA
·RTOS (currently µC/OS which may change. Might need FreeRTOS, ThreadX)
·Experience with customer support dealing with people face to face
·Good time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
·Willingness to work within a consultancy environment that may require some UK based travel. Remote working possible
Nice to have:
·Design using schedulers
·Xilinx Ultrascale processors
What you will be doing
·Supporting the wider team development for Embedded development on Microcontrollers.
·Working with the fellow AKKA Engineers to keep projects on time whilst interreacting with the customer.
·Providing a high level of expertise within Defence developing to a highly secure environment.
·Investigating and implementing problem reports and change requests
Candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
