As a Kinship Social Worker, you will provide crucial support and guidance to kinship carers, who are relatives or friends caring for children who cannot live with their parents. Your role will involve assessing kinship carers, providing ongoing support, and ensuring the well-being and stability of children in kinship care placements.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of kinship carers, evaluating their suitability and capacity to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with kinship carers, children, and relevant professionals, addressing the specific needs and circumstances of each family.
Provide ongoing support, advice, and advocacy to kinship carers, empowering them to meet the needs of the children in their care and navigate challenges effectively.
Monitor the well-being and progress of children in kinship care placements, conducting regular visits and assessments to ensure their safety and development.
Work collaboratively with external agencies and community resources to access support services for kinship carers and children, addressing any additional needs or concerns.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and case progress, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with relevant degree or diploma in social work.
Registered with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England).
Two years post qualifications & ideally Kinship experience
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to children in care.
