Job Purpose: As Project Engineer, you will lead the management, maintenance and upgrade of Water Assets, including mechanical and electrical schemes and maintenance activities to ensure high-quality, efficient work with minimal waste, and a safe working environment for all colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage mechanical and electrical schemes and maintenance activities to ensure high-quality, efficient work with minimal waste and a safe working environment for all colleagues
Monitor and assist with the pre-construction process plan
Attend start-up, site visits, and design meetings
Assist the estimating team with target price build-ups for new works and attend target price review meetings
Liaise with the internal design department to ensure awareness of contract requirements
Arrange and attend meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Ensure proper maintenance and storage of drawings and documents electronically
Create method statements, risk assessments, and other H&S documents for required tasks
Approve subcontractors' method statements and risk assessments
Handle daily on-site installation and commissioning and attend pre-contract meetings with Operations/Project Manager and subcontractors
Manage sub-contracts and orders, attend progress meetings, and create a commissioning plan in collaboration with the Operations/Project Manager
Manage commissioning activities and ensure proper documentation is in place for handover and sign-off
Ensure all subcontractor and supplier information and drawings are properly included in manuals
Liaise with internal resources to produce accurate O&Ms
Create HSEQ paperwork for submission to the client and attend update meetings at operational sites and client premises
Provide updated information and work summaries to clients
Compile relevant HSEQ documentation and conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and accident reporting
Liaise with HSEQ on relevant matters and report any accidents/incidents or near misses that occur
Document any concerns of breaches of company rules and ensure any non-compliance issues are documented and investigated
Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, comply with company health and safety policies, procedures, and codes of practise, and demonstrate and uphold company values
Competence Profile:

Essential:

Previous experience working as a Mechanical Project Engineer
NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or HNC/HND
Desirable:

NVQ or equivalent in the core role
